How will I work with a coach?

When you think of the word "coach," you immediately identify concepts such as mentoring, teaching or coaching a sport. Business and executive coaching involves many similar activities but focuses specifically on you and your development.

1. First we'll talk about what's going on, identifying aspects you feel are working and those that are not. We may also use assessments to help you create a picture with more focus. All of this is done in the strictest confidence and without judgment.

2. From these discussions we'll choose the areas you want to work on and explore the goals you have both for your business situation and your life. We'll spend time making sure the goals are specific, measurable, attainable, relevant and time-based. And we'll also be sure they tap into your hopes and dreams for the future.

3. With your goals in mind, we'll develop strategies to attain them
and move into action. This step becomes even more exciting as you begin to see the results!

4. For the next several months, we'll continue the cycle of taking
action, evaluating progress, breaking through roadblocks, reassessing the situation and celebrating your successes as your situation grows into the one you envisioned.

Being coached requires real effort and commitment. A regular meeting with someone who helps you identify and keep your eye on the big picture-while working on the small steps to attain it-provides the momentum most people need for change.

But just like a basketball coach, your business coach is on the sidelines.. You are the only one who has the power to take the action or "shots" needed for your success. As your coach, I will help you use your strengths, break through whatever is holding you back and facilitate your movement into who you want to become.
